Rules update for 2010

For 2010 we are going back to our original rules in place prior to hurricane Katrina stating that all boats must leave from Biloxi.  With this change we are also moving up the time of departure from 4:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. to allow for a safer run out.
The rule now reads as follows:

3. TOURNAMENT START:

In the interest of true sportsmanship and to keep all participants on as near an equal basis as possible, the start of the tournament will be as follows:

Boats must depart from Biloxi anytime after 3:00 P.M., Thursday. A boat parade will head west from Point Cadet Marina beginning promptly at 3:00 P.M.

The cold weather streak finally broke for the Orange Beach Boat Show at The Warf which brought in a huge crowd this past weekend and we enjoyed seeing many of our great friends and sponsors at the event.  Galati Yachts and Viking, Gulf Coast Hatteras, A&M Yachts, Saunders Yacht Works, George's Marine Electronics and Mike over at J&M Tackle in Orange Beach.  We spoke to quite a few anglers as well who say they are itching to get out on the water and especially ready to cash a big check in Biloxi the second week of June.

American Caribbean Challenge

Our good friends Lee Stevens and Jerry Perez have started something special down in western Puerto Rico. The American Caribbean Challenge is a charity tournament supporting the hearing and visually impaired children of Cabo Rojo and western Puerto Rico.  Looks like they had a great time doing a great community service!  Congratulations on a successful first year!
Their dates for this year's event are September 30 to October 3, 2010.

Online Tournament Registration

You can now register your team for the 2010 Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic online at http://www.mgcbc.com/.

It is very simple and here is how you do it:
- From the menu, click on 2010 Tournament and then click the Registration Info. tab.
- If you have not yet done so, click on Create Free Account
- The simple account form is presented that needs to be filled out in order for you to enter the more secure tournament entry information.  Please note that you must enter an underscore in place of spaces for your boat name.  example: Fish In the Baits should be entered Fish_In_The_Baits.
- When you submit the form an activation email will promptly be sent to you with a confirmation number and a code you will need for activating your new account.
- Once activated, you can login to your account to create your tournament entry form including boat information, angler information, shirt sizes, golf team members, etc.
- Once you have completed the tournament entry form you will again receive an email containing a copy for your records and instructions on getting your entry payment to us.
- Please note that for the early bird drawing, your payment date (postmark date if mailed) will be used for your early bird drawing tickets, not the date of the online registration unless they are the same.

Get your entry forms in now because WE ARE BACK!  By this we mean that all boats are back in Biloxi this year as they must all depart from Point Cadet Marina for the premier tournament on the Gulf Coast, the 2010 Mississippi Gulf Coast Billfish Classic.
